On our STOCK TRAILER LOADOUTS one of our clients made this point. "When you sell a customer a $100,000 bull and he won't load into a trailer you have a problem." We have fixed that problem. The opening that the trailer is backed into is 10' wide. This allows even a novice operator to hit the loadout with ease. The first gate is 10' back which allows adequate clearance for the trailer gate to open into the chute. The second gate is 10' back from the 1st gate thus allowing for a staging area for cattle to wait before loading. Remember all gates are hung from 5 1/2" x 10' cemented in posts, then sheeted with 3 pieces of 2x2x10 gauge square tubing spars, spaced top, middle, and bottom of sheets. All the seams are then caulked to eliminate noise. Gravel or concrete is added to the base of the chute to raise it 10". This extends under the trailer to allow a seamless footing raise under the rear of the trailer. This makes the step into the floor of the trailer very minor so even baby calves baulk very little. |
